I started That Helpful Chick over 14 years ago as a tech VA – building the backend of other people’s businesses one funnel, one automation, one CRM at a time. What began as a passion for problem-solving grew into a full systems practice supporting hundreds of entrepreneurs across the US and beyond.
These days I work with established coaches, consultants, and service businesses who need a trusted partner to build and manage the tech that keeps everything running. My specialty is HighLevel and its white-label version MeshApex – I’ve built and managed more of these setups than I can count, which means I can move fast and I know what works.
I don’t do hourly. I don’t manage a big team. You work directly with me – someone who’s been in the online business world long enough to have seen every tool, trend, and platform come and go, and can tell you honestly what’s worth your time.

Jayne Russell
Tech Generalist & Support Specialist

Jayne joined the THC team in 2021 and has grown into a capable, adaptable tech generalist across everything we do. Before working with us, she spent her time at a horse rescue – which tells you a lot about who she is: patient, reliable, and genuinely invested in the wellbeing of what she’s looking after, whether that’s an animal or a client’s business.
Jayne is a single mum to two girls and lives in Scotland alongside her mum Kathy, who was one of THC’s original and most beloved team members. She came to the work through that connection and has built real skills across all the platforms we use. She has a particular creative flair for social content – especially anything in the animal or wellness space where she can let her personality come through.

A note on our history
Kathy Russell was one of the founding members of That Helpful Chick and a significant part of our growth over the years. A tech-savvy, dog-loving Scot with decades of computing experience, Kathy brought warmth, expertise, and a lot of laughs to this team. She retired in 2024 and is very much missed. We’re lucky that her daughter Jayne carries a little of that same spirit forward.
