Who is Your Mentor?

This morning I was thinking about this question, who is your mentor? But more than that, I was thinking about the kinds of mentors we have in life.

Most people in our business might answer this question with some coach or other big name that is successful online.

But I have to say, there are two people who have been the biggest influence on my life and business and that is my parents.

We didn’t always have the best relationship when I was growing up. In fact, we didn’t talk for about 5 years when I was in my early 20’s. (Long story!)

I am the middle child. Those of you who are the middle child – enough said. 🙂

I was always an individual who had to follow my own path and learn my own lessons. As I get older, I enjoy learning from others mistakes much more! lol

Even though we had our rough patches, I have learned the most valuable lessons from my parents. 

The best lessons are taught by leading by example.

My dad showed me the value of working and having a good work ethic. He taught me the importance of taking care of your family by any means. He taught me the value of always having a cash stash, not just a savings account!

My mom taught me how to be financially smart. She taught me how to be a good person and how to treat others no matter where they come from. She taught me what it means to be a good person in all you do.

I believe your business is an extension of who you are. How you conduct yourself and deal with clients and customers comes from who you are as a person.

I only want to work with people who share the same kinds of values as I do – in life and in business.

Who do you look up to?
