Why do you need to get your site seen by Google? Well, what do you do when you’re looking for information on the Intenet? You “Google it”! It makes sense to ensure your site is seen by Google and here, we’ll walk you through the steps.

There are a number of steps to go through to get your site “verified” with the search engine, Google Verifying your site means that Google can “see” your site  and index it so people can find it.

This is also the stage to set up Google Analytics, which provides data to analyze the visitors to your site. This is important as you progress and it helps you to see what is working, what is attracting visitors.

Sounds like scary stuff? It’s pretty simple to do if you follow the step by step instructions in the video.

Firstly, make sure you have added the recommended plugins from this page, you’ll need WordPress SEO by Yoast and Google Analytics by Yoast.

You need to register your site with Google and once you have the plugins installed it’s simply a matter of getting an identification number. You then add it to the relevant place within the plugin. Not so scary after all!

All this is covered in the video and pausing  the video while you follow the steps is the most effective way to use this training.

Once you’ve set everything up, you don’t need to do anything else, the plugin takes care of everything automatically. We’ll cover how to use Webmaster Tools and Analytics later on, setting them up is all you need to do for now.

Before watching the video, make sure you have the two plugins installed. In two separate tabs open Analytics and Webmaster Tools.
