It never fails that all the stores I visit seem to always have a
display for the next 3 holidays before we have even gone through the current months holiday!
I mean, here we are, just a couple of weeks until Christmas and I’m seeing store displays for Valentine’s Day!
I just think it says something about the commercialization of
today’s society. Businesses are more interested in getting that next sale then they are in giving good customer service.
Speaking of Christmas, are you ready?
I think we are. We’ve been sneaking and hiding presents from the grand kids for months now. Today we left our purchases in the trunk of the car! We’ve run out of hiding places in the house!
I’m so thankful this year to have been able to get the gifts I wanted instead of getting what I could afford.
When my daughter was little, I can remember wrapping her gifts in the Sunday comics to save money by not buying wrapping paper.
One year, I even re-gifted some of her old toys that I had packed away and she hadn’t seen in a long time.
I bet you have some similar stories you could share!
For me, that is what life is about. It’s not about the money but rather what I can accomplish. Well yes, those things take money.
However, I find that if my focus is on what I want to accomplish rather than a dollar amount that I have much greater success.
